Every single statistical category point to a Cajuns win. Except special teams. If the Cajuns field punts and keep from turning it over we win. Period, no questions, next opponent.

If we turn it over and give Appalachian St extra possessions then we will likely lose.

Come on man. We had a 77-6 beatdown in there against maybe the worst team in fcs. That adjusts the numbers slightly. Not to say we aren’t better. I watched every game app had on ESPN+ and of course all of our games as well. I’m expecting a war. I think it will be on the lower scoring end considering the offenses. I think the teams will play a chess match waiting to see who makes the mistakes. Field position and special teams will be huge. Offense needs to punch it in the end zone. Defense needs to keep em in front and hold them to FGs

App has not held a single FBS opponent under their season average points/game. Charlotte rushed for 245 yards against them. Their red zone defense is beyond awful, which is usually a sign of inability to stop the inside running game. Our defense, in contrast, has held 2 of our FBS opponents below their season average, and our worst performance allowed a +8 to MSU. The other, GaSo, was +2.7. MSU is the only FBS team against which we scored less than their season average (-0.6). All the rest, we outscored their average surrendered. App has outscored all their FBS opponents season averages.

This game may be close, but every weakness App has matches one of our strengths. I like our chances.
