If Butch has never been a head coach, how are you convince that his style of play is "street ball"?

    You make no sense.

please explain why you think Butch is so close to the old administration, when the old administration was the one that refused to hire him.

Nobody can speak as to why he hasn't been a head coach. You have a point and that is one of my concerns with him...However, because of that exact reason, how would you know that his hire would be terrible? He has not been a head coach other than on an interim basis so you have NO idea as to what style of game he brings nor his ability to run a disciplined program. I would rather go with Kaspar, Marlin or even better yet, Kennedy or Floyd but I could thing of a LOT of worse candidates to hire over Pierre.

I would rather the three that you mention as they have been successful as head coaches.

He was here during the Fletcher and I believe Evans years. I didn't mean close as in buddy buddy, I meant close as in the same old tired system. Let's think out of the box for once.

So your thought is guilt by association. Thankfully that logic doesn't prevail in our society.

There are probably better choices but declaring someone poison because they were once associated with the University is unfortunate.

As many here would also. In fact, the university would because they have stated that experience as a head coach is foremost in their criteria for hiring someone. Having said that, Butch may be that gem that nobody gave a chance to. I respect a man who likes it here and I feel that he would give everything to this program. He can recruit like nobody else and he's well respected. I don't know if I'd go 300k with him as his lack of experience holds him back and I think we'd all like to see one of the previously mentioned candidates but Butch is not a bad option if things aren't looking good.

Default Rumor of Billy Gillispie sighting in Lafayette

Anyone know if this is true? Is it coincidence or did he come to interview? HE was my first choice but I had heard that he is not interested, nor are we interested in him. I think if he wants to come we at least should listen to what he has to say.

Be nice, if he was your brother or a close friend would you not want him to get another chance? I don't know this guy personally, but as a person I would want to be there to help support him as he gets his life back together. I would like doing that even more if he was the coach of the team at the school I love!

I have no idea if this is even true. The person who told me he was seen in town always claims to know about things. I usually do not take him seriously, but this got my curiosity up because I think he is a brilliant coach.
