I hate to beat you to the punch, but the Massey Composite has Ap at 31 right now, and UL at 52. Troy is at 78, stAte at 83, GaSo at 91 and Coastal Carolina is 92.

As a conference, the SBC is 3rd in the G5 on Massey; ahead of CUSA and the MAC.

How so? The Massey Composite is an amalgam of 40+ Rankings of FBS football teams by individuals or organizations. It gives a pretty accurate picture (large sample size, law of large numbers, etc.) of how each team in the country is perceived by people whose business is based on being correct more often than not.

You're right, but in all fairness 4 games is not enough of a sample size for an algorithm to produce accurate results. So there are bound to be some wacky numbers this early in the season. A good model is useless without a good data set.

For you Boomer....peeked at the LTURd bleedtechblue posts.......they are painfully aware who is ranked at #52 and how very very low CUSA overall is being ranked.

Their beloved Sagarin has LTURd at #99.....I could almost hear the tears falling.

I dont disagree with this; but a construct like the Massey Composite will still likely be more accurate en globo than any one idividual or organization's opinion.
