We don't battle at the plate, it's embarrassing to watch. So many holes in our bats and if God forbid we hit the ball, it's a grounder to the pitcher.

Guys it looked like men against boys out there... USM has imposing players.. We are PHYSICALLY out manned this weekend....
No aggression at the plate... its not a pretty picture ....
A couple of games with many errors and no hitting can be forgiven. It's pretty obvious now that this is the norm. We're weak in the field and meek at the plate. Our pitching can not overcome this. It's going to be a long season.
Team ERA is 2.52, which would be in the top 10 nationally at the end of the year. Pitching is just fine.
I think they're simple saying our pitching staff is better than average up to this point, which i would agree. I would like to see us adjust better on the mound to batters crowding the plate.
Also, don't the batters have to make an effort to get out of the way of the pitch? USM seemed to just throw the elbow a few times.
I was waaaay off. Arizona State led the NCAA with a 2.9 team ERA last year. LSU was 4.01 winning the CWS.We led the Sunbelt in ERA last year with an ERA double what we have now. When we finish under 4.00 ERA we usually do well;
2005: 48 wins, 3.80 ERA; NCAA Regional
2006: 39 wins, 3.54 ERA;
2007: 45 wins, 3.78 ERA; NCAA Regional
2008: 30 Wins, 4.99 ERA
2009: 27 wins, 5.01 ERA 1st in SBC
UL has led the SBC in pitching all year, last year and most years.
