Lunacy no doubt. Lifting was only destructive during the season.

I went to practice twice a week for most of his UL career

The same one that coached Michael Vick, a famously good deep ball thrower? That Ricky bustle? Maybe Vick skipped the bench presses and that did it.

But come to find out Vick was the dog in the dog and pony show.

Everyone has different skill sets. We don't know how good of a passer Vick could have become with a different coach.

What we do know without a doubt is, Bustle loves a running QB, and that skillset benifits greatly from the weight room.

Can’t prove a negative, the basis for all of your arguments.

And Napier evidently since you are also claiming Lewis’ throwing has been diminished by weight training

I don't know any of that.

I just said stay away from a strength building regimen during the regular season. (stated jmo many times in the past)

You don't like my suggestion, and that's fair.

I also know Michael Vick couldn't hit the side of a barn 'straight out of Bustle.' He did get better as his career went on.

I said we did not see that from him at UL.
    You didn't say that either.

Just trying to help you comprehend, hoping you would use a little discernment.

My immediate (in same post) follow-up to the reference "Desormeaux could throw the long ball better than we ever saw at UL" was a description of what I witnessed from his highschool game. I obviously wasn't saying HE was the best we ever saw at UL.

In the very same post that I said Babb's long ball was one of the best in school history. Better than VanCleave, and Rekieta, both of whom were known for their long ball.

Desormeaux had no such reputation, and it had already been established by CharlieK that Desormeaux and Mitchell were not the best in that regard.

All I was trying to say was his best passing ability was better than what we witnessed from him at Cajun Field.

All that to say he was never really allowed to pass so we will never know. 🤔

Bustle considered the long ball a trick play.

    It worked though.

OK. It's not as obvious as you think. It's not about discernment. It's about literally what you said word for word. If you think its that obvious when everyone here that has commented on it has called you to task then oh well. I know you are going to fall on the sword so to speak defending what you said so its really not that big of a deal and not worth the time. However, didn't MD run the option in HS?

    I don't remember.

Two things stuck with me from the HS game I covered.

    1) The beautiful arch of Desormeaux's long ball.

    2) Desormeaux catching Luke Aubrey from behind after a nice long pass from Rock Charpentier.
