Over the years we had Minor League Baseball (Lafayette Bayou Bullfrogs) Minor League Soccer (Lafayette Swampcats) Minor League Hockey (Louisiana Ice Gators) & Arena League Football ( Lafayette Roughnecks/Acadiana Mudbugs/ Lafayette Wildcatters). Would University of Louisiana & The XFL be a good relationship? The Pro's & Con's? Would having a XFL team in Lafayette help renovate Cajun Field?

If this is a possibility I say hell yes !!! Man that would be the answer to fund renovation of Cajun Field! If you can get them to come to Lafayette I am down! I say shoot for the stars.

Well I am sure the city of Lafayette would have to petition the XFL to bring a franchise to Lafayette, and then have to be approved by the XFL. Then the city or owner of that team would have to make the necessary accommodations to the XFL for that team.

Only when it is approved you can make the financial commitment to Cajun Field. I assume how all this works? Don’t want to be like San Antonio and build the Alamodome for a NFL team that never came.

If this is possible, I think UL would have to lease Cajun Field to the city of Lafayette. Lafayette would have to propose a tax to make the necessary accommodations for a XFL team. Hopefully that would include renovation of Cajun Field.

XFL team the Houston Roughnecks will be playing at Houston Cougar stadium or TDECU stadium in Houston.

Houston spent 128 million dollars to build, or rebuild that stadium. Think Houston was petitioning the XFL to bring a franchise to Houston? To help try to bring another revenue stream to help pay for the stadium?
