Thread: Was it fair to shorten Cajuns win over Texas Southern?

  1. UL Football Was it fair to shorten Cajuns win over Texas Southern?

With UL already up by 50 points at halftime of its eventual 77-6 win over FCS-member Texas Southern on Saturday night at Cajun Field, an agreement between the two sides was reached.

The game’s third and fourth quarters would be reduced from 15 minutes to 10 minutes each.

That might be the biggest waste of time I have ever read.

Fair or not is was the right thing to do. The game was over after the first quarter. No need to expose the players to injury by playing any longer than necessary.

    Yes, its all fair.

Tim Buckley is a poor excuse for a sports writer, but, for me, the past 2 sports writers set the bar a lot higher than he is able to reach. They had better research, intriguing stories about the players, and information that the public wanted to read. After Coach Napier addressed the media and stated no further comment was needed, he feels the need to write this sensational garbage. Tim is not friend of Louisiana athletics. He consistently has a negative agenda. I applaud both coaches decision in line with the NCAA rules. I just believe the The Advertiser deserves a better sports writer. It’s not FAIR to subject the public to his articles.

Oh for ____s sake. I hate everything.

If Buckley continues to improve he could write for the Vermilion.

Personally I am happy I switched to the Advocate when Kevin Foote moved. Even better he is the main Cajuns beat writer there. He is an alum, really wants the Cajuns to win, and led the charge for the Advocate to change their name policy. In Tim's defense, it is difficult to find things to write about when the game was such a mismatch.

Foote embarrassed this university on a national level. He’s done stupid things throughout his career.

Buckley is a low rent hack that hates his life in Lafayette. (Don’t believe me, just talk to him).

If you can’t find something legitimate to write in week 3 of the football season, you shouldn’t be paid to write.

Y'all are tough customers the dude just asked a question. Over and over and over.

ps Some of the "was it fair"s cancel each other out.

I will never spend money on The Advertiser as long as he is employed there.

Looks like he has few customers and I’m not sure he has any on this board.

If there was an injury late in the 4th quarter, Buckley would be writing about how they should have shortened the game.
