Spot on. A bowl game doesn't mean jack crap anymore. They've ruined the system by adding way too many. The Liberty, Independence, Bluebonnet bowl all had certain prestige until along comes music city, motor City, Camellia, Tucson, the game in the Bahamas (RIP), etc, etc. It's why none of them can draw more than a few thousand fans.

    Y’all are all right.

We are playing for a conference championship every year, and a football vacation after that. That’s our realistic ceiling. Although a New Years bowl may be above the ceiling and below the roof, if you are optimistic.

Are you really saying that less people would go see the Cajuns in the Independence bowl because there is a Camelia Bowl, Motor City Bowl, etc., and that because now there are lower tiered bowls that bowls like the Liberty, Independence, etc. no longer have the significance they once had?

Yes, if you're going to a bowl game 8 out of every 10 years because every 6-6 FBS team in America goes bowling.

Is that a Yogi Berra quote?

So what bowl game caused attendance to be low last Saturday at Cajun Field?

I think there are many more other predominate factors that come into the picture for low bowl attendance than what you cite.

He didn't blame the attendance last week on a random bowl game. He was stating that the sheer number of bowl games and success required to be invited to so many more bowl games waters them down. The cajun fans traveled well the first couple of years to the NOLA bowl because we hadn't been to a bowl period since 1970. There was the novelty of it and feeling of success.

In regards to the Indy bowl, they are no longer going to get programs like Michigan State playing LSU with the more bowl games out there. As a matter of fact, I believe both the SEC and Big 10 dropped their tie in to the Indy Bowl recently.
