Something has been done.....let's see how it pans out during the season. The one thing that hasn't been done is ripping off a good win streak...everyone likes being associated with a winner.

They've never wanted to be there. At what point do you need to stop at trying to beg and gimmick students to come to football games?

Her research? Did you actually read the article? This is an opinion piece that basically discusses her and her group of friends feelings on the subject. There is no objective survey that was conducted.

If you want to feel included and "connected" to the Cajuns, then I doubt the wise thing to do is to move you further away from the stadium where all the stuff you want to be connect to is located. I mean, really? You don't think the University, Dr. Maggard and crew, didn't do their research and listen to the student body? That's pretty naïve.

The experience that the University is trying to create at games now is far more interactive than it's ever been! I wish we had that stuff when I was a student 12 years ago. In the Bustle days we just had the student side. It was hot, in the sun, you brought in your own beer and it was far more packed. This was with football teams that had a much lower ceiling than the Cajun teams now. We tailgated right below the scoreboard and it was great.

Now you've got your own student bar, dirt cheap beer and good concessions, tailgating is back to where it should be, free admission, internet in the stadium (I think), all the social media promotions you'd want, a good football team. Honestly, what the hell else do you want?

The Athletic Administration sent out student surveys, met with the SGA and other student organizations and also met with a large student committee for input.....this Vermilion article is pure garbage

They want to bhitch.. That's what they want.
Coddled from womb to tomb, and we're guilty for participating.

Again, when you don't attract football fans, you get this BS. People that want everything tailored to their personal preferences, a cheap saturday night, or a place to be seen. It's not about football with these students. That's why the 'RedZone' is empty after halftime.

A true Cajun supporter would have taken all the information provided above, written an article on all that is being done to encourage student participation and taken an opportunity to use the school paper to persuade more students to partake in the festivities. C'mon man.

comment under her article, and maybe the Vermillion will notice, this is after all a paid position that this student occupies and I'm sure that she is filling a slot that some individual who can actually put together a coherent sentence may want to occupy

I got a text from Dr. Maggard this morning asking if I had time available on Bird's Eye View today for him to come by.

    Why, yes. Yes I do.

I was going to write my own piece but I'll wait until after today's show.

    Fixed it for you.

"The students" = Three people anonymously quoted.

I hope he is encouraged to speak in no uncertain terms. I know Doc’s position has to be political at times, but this kinda thing has to be addressed with some force. It makes his administration, the university and the athletic program as a whole look really bad. Even though we know it’s a hit piece for the writer’s own personal agenda, outside view points will not be that contextualized.
