The NCAA is definitely an end goal but if you don't make it doesn't make your season a failure. If you go 30-4, win the conference but falter in the conference tournament but you get to NIT final 4 is that a worse year than going say....19-18, finishing 5th in conference but getting on a roll in the conference tournament and getting beat by 25 to a #2 seed in the NCAA?
YES 19-18 and going to the NCAA is a better season than 40-1 and not going. The goal of any basketball program is to win the NCAA tourney, if you fail to make the tourney, your season is a bust.

That's without having us in a position where we can compete nationally where we shouldn't really have unwinnable games on our schedule to begin with.
Yes 911 I would like to report a murder

We can do better.

This staff needs to win more meaningful games moving forward.
It may not be a long shot for us to make a post season tournament soon.

    This isn't hard.

    Above average regular season.

    Below average post season.

I continually refer back to Einstein and his premise that it is your personal theory that determines what you see.

CBI or CIT do not count as postseason

    Except they do.

It's just that they are below the bar of this discussion.

I was not considering those in my comment. As we are paying to bring in two opponents in the regular season, I don’t believe money is in the budget to participate in buy in tournaments again this year. That could change if supporters underwrite the cost. ULM did make money with their participation last year but that is not relevant to us.

    Not a chance.

This is a ludicrous statement. The fact that we did not go to the NCAA two years ago didn't make it a bad season.

The facts that Marlins teams have never beat a top 100 RPI P5 program and. that his teams here have a losing record vs top 200 RPI teams make him a below average coach.

Beating top-100 would definitely do it.

Not losing to sub-150 would make a coach above average as well.
