LUCK is a big factor in finding a gem at our level. The more opportunities you bring in, the better chances of striking luck.

That has something to do with it. But I think it has more to do with being able to sign the guy who fits what you want to do as an offense.

LSU is the greatest example of this. Star QBs galore who never amounted to anything. Because they didn’t fit Miles system.

From what I have seen so far, Napier would like to pound the running game and then beat you over the top. Levi can’t do that consistently. LL will still win us 6 more games. But that will be because of the running game and defense.

By my count it is 3: Hawkins, Magalei and Kalbacher. You had to build depth there somehow and two true Fr was far too risky.

Outside of Kalbacher, the other 2 have at least 3 seasons left, so they are not your normal JUCO transfers.

I think grad transfers have a chance to start quickly, not sure JUCO players give you any guarantee.

This team will win more than 6 more games with Levi as QB.

6 more games, not 6 total. I think we can win 10 games, but LL will have to win 2 of those with his arm. He hasn’t proven he can do that yet.

If LL continues to miss on the wide open deep balls then we will struggle to beat App, Ohio, stAte and Troy.

I bet we beat 2 out of those 4 with LL as QB.

What part of “more than 6 more” was not clear.

And let's remember, Hawkins was a last minute addition to program that came in during the summer. He did not have the luxury of sitting in the QB room last season and playing snaps in every game last season.

While Magalei was on campus this past January, he was not healthy. In fact he was not healthy the first week of fall camp. And both Hawkins and Magalei did not play a down of football last season at any level. Both of them have superior arms and size compared to Levi Lewis, neither has the experience on the field with Coach Napier's offense.

Are we wasting scholarships? Why bring in JUCO's and transfers if they are not starting or pushing to start.

Do you guys think we have upgraded the qb position from Nunez last year?

I feel that this coaching staff got the most out of Nunez and I expect the same with Lewis.

I think the addition of LL’s running and scrambling gives us a better chance to win if he can limit the turnovers and improve his downfield throws. I think that will happen as the season goes on. He may not be the greatest passer, but what he can do to extend plays and make things happen can really demoralize a defense and open up more plays. If he can improve those deep throws this offense will be potent in the SBC.

That aspect of his game brings something more to the table than Nunez. As you mentioned, the area that needs improvement will be tested against good teams.

Yes LL is an upgrade because he has a greater ability to extend plays and escape pressure.
