Guys first snap in 2 years with the second unit vs a 3rd year junior over throwing an all sunbelt WR

Regardless of if you think LL is great or terrible, I think we can all pretty much agree that the passing game has got to improve in order to be a complete team.

We are playing a number of freshmen and I never thought we'd need to do that and Bradley is our only proven commodity at this point.

I get that he's not going to be the best passer we've had here but I'm surprised as to how many people don't give him any credit for the positive plays and drives he does make.
LL played pretty good. His glaring weakness is
Downfield passing. Which in turn becomes a major weakness for the Cajuns.

He missed some TD strikes through the game. If he can get that worked out I’d say we could be the favorite in the SBC.

I'm in the same boat. LL has played well in my opinion. I see a QB playing better than what we seen at the position last season.

We have backups that have never taken a D1 snap who people feel are the savior. I believe the freshman QBs will both be above average QBs but they are not that today.

Do they release beer sales at the games? I would love to know how many were sold yesterday.

So are you saying we have QB evaluation problem because we have five new ones on our roster

No, I am saying most D1 programs are looking for a QB who can throw, run and not turn the ball over. Most of the kids we have access to are usually limited in one or more aspects. We all know Levi’s limiting factor. Hopefully one of the young guys has less deficiencies once he learns the playbook. IMHO I think we are set at the position. We have a solid upperclassmen playing now and a few intriguing youngsters waiting their turn.
I will also say if one of the young guys was the second coming of Brian Mitchell or Jake, he will be playing significant snaps this year. I know I am a broken record, but good players do not sit the bench at UL.

Don’t start Metry, don’t you know that GOOD PLAYERS DONT SIT THE BENCH AT LOUISIANA!!!!

Fields is a technician ala Drew.

Magalei is a natural passer but lacks experience.

Hawkins has best arm and touch.

McDowell is a total dual threat with arm talent.

Lewis is the field general with intangibles.

We should get a look at a couple of different QB's this week against Texas Southern.

I expect Billy will get back to a 2 QB system for insurance purposes. Lewis is small and his scrambling ability increases risk for injury.

... and most FBS programs have zero QBs that excel at all three. If you're not in the very top of the P5 schools, and you want a "dual threat" QB, you will be managing the deficiencies of your QB.

Agreed, but then we’ve gotta question bringing in two juco quarterbacks and neither capable of taking over.
