SI way to early Bowl Predictions

With 70+ teams playing.....Bowls are an extension of season or 13th game for most; 14th game for those who played in a conf championship. Only the top 4 are playing for the real big game, the 15th game.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but unless we’re in a NY6 Bowl (can’t see that happening with a loss on our record), isn’t NOLA our best avenue as it means we actually won the conference?

Nola, Houston or Shreveport are the only locations that would bring a crowd. S’Port wouldn’t be a great one either.

you are correct sir.... looks like they put the policy back in:

“The winner of the Sun Belt Football Championship Game, if not selected for inclusion in the College Football Playoff, will automatically be placed in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.”

bad news is if we lose the title game we might find out our bowl assignment much later than others? i.e. low travel/attendance... unless they announce before game leave one spot empty?

Not when you can’t put 10k butts in seats for a season opener against a beatable SEC team in September.

Think people will show up for a lower level bowl game against a G5? The novelty of the NOLA bowl has not only run its course, but our fanbase almost scoffs at it now.

Since the NOLA Bowl is now once again reserved for the Sun Belt Champion, that should be the ONLY Bowl game the Cajuns should strive for (other than a New Years Day Bowl)! Going to any other Bowl game will mean the season left something to be desired.

Outside of New Years style bowls, no bowl is as desirable as The NO Bowl and definitely beats no bowl.
