Not defending the U of Ruston-downtown (they've play a crap schedule in a crap conf) but this CCPn Power Index must have been compiled by an idiot intern. (Midwest) Northwestern's only win is against 2-7 Nevada-Vegas team. Seems like they are just getting credit for playing in the B1G. Their victory next week against the hapless UAzz will vault them ahead of Turd again.

Appy-lame-shan just won on the road against a 4-6 USC-east team yet is still 11 spots behind them. Lamecocks and Ten I don't see are both ahead of an 8-1 Boise, Ida-hoe team that would mop the floor with them on a neutral field with neutral reffs.

They need to rename it the Power Bottom Index cause it just highlight which one's they consider Alpha.

Default ESPN Power Index Nov 24

Some people don't like calculated polls. To my mind, they are as good as somebody sitting at a desk picking out their favorite schools. At least computer polls eliminate personal bias.

Of the calculated polls, I am partial to ESPN, because ESPN's poll influences...

ESPN. Their poll will influence their thinking, which means it can influence TV presence & revenues. That, in turn, influences the schools who schedule us. It might even influence conference affiliations.

So this is a surprise: with the Troy win, we not only leap-frogged App State, we also placed above Cincinnati (?!), and ended up #4 among mid-majors.
