Just saying drinkwitz was at NC state and currently coaching in North Carolina and is coming in here undefeated with a win over UNC...I think he would be on their radar as well. I promise you they know who he is. Point being, Napier isn’t the only good young coaching looking to move to P5’s. Timing and connections has a lot to do with it.
If Brett Baer was not on Hud’s teams the outcome would have been much, much different. Cajuns would not have beat Troy at home (onside kick) or won first NO bowl game.
Baer not only won games by being the best kicker at onside kicks in history of program but also by his punting abilities.
I don’t think he is looking because he knows the opportunities he MAY desire in the future are not yet looking at him. I believe he aspires to win a National Championship some day, not just to be a coach of any P5. A bad P5 move could forever shut him out of that big aspiration. He has not shown enough yet to get that big one.
