_ This is a Southern Miss team that has already lost 3 games, one to Northwestern State and 2 of 3 to LeMoyne! Is that like our basketball team losing to Mobile? I don't know anything about LeMoyne. But, UL needs to win at least 2 of 3 from USM. At least we would beat them at something as we get clobbered in football and lose in basketball whenever they do play us. _

In the interest of full disclosure here, USM took 2/3 from Northwestern State and outscored them 23-10 in the series (w/ an 11-0 shutout in the Friday game). Nothing wrong with that. Northwestern State is not a bad team. They spanked Monroe and are 7-2. They gave Creighton their only loss of the season. The Demons have also outscored their competition 74-16 since the USM series.

As for LeMoyne, they have a nice club. They also split with a Wright State club that beat All-American Danny Hultzen and #2 Virginia last night 2-1 in Charlottesville.

Yes, the RPI is meaningless at this point. The level of inter-connectivity is well short of where it needs to be to yield a meaningful reading. Additionally, the Warren Nolan RPI is just the base RPI.

If you are comparing LeMoyne baseball to College of Mobile basketball, you don't know anything about college baseball.

As of today, SBC is ranked #6 in Warren Nolan and #7 in Boydsworld. Not bad at all and I suppose the SBC will finish in the top 10 as usual (hopefully as high as #7). It's still too early to take RPI too seriously but it's always fun to track.
