Unless I'm reading it wrong, by the same list, if you look at the team RPI's the Cajuns are #14 in the list. It's way too early in the season for this to mean anything, but is interesting.
This is a Southern Miss team that has already lost 3 games, one to Northwestern State and 2 of 3 to LeMoyne! Is that like our basketball team losing to Mobile? I don't know anything about LeMoyne. But, UL needs to win at least 2 of 3 from USM. At least we would beat them at something as we get clobbered in football and lose in basketball whenever they do play us.
What is interesting is that FIU is starting to wake up. They swept two decent programs, Maryland and Oral Roberts. They are 7-0. I couldn't understand why a state school in Miami surrounded by 2,000,000 cubans and dominicans had such a sorry baseball team. It was just a matter of time. They should be a top 20 team every year.
Don't under estimate Turtle and FIU. They have commitments from the #5 and #66 ranked draft prospects for this years draft.

In the interest of full disclosure here, USM took 2/3 from Northwestern State and outscored them 23-10 in the series (w/ an 11-0 shutout in the Friday game). Nothing wrong with that. Northwestern State is not a bad team. They spanked Monroe and are 7-2. They gave Creighton their only loss of the season. The Demons have also outscored their competition 74-16 since the USM series.
As for LeMoyne, they have a nice club. They also split with a Wright State club that beat All-American Danny Hultzen and #2 Virginia last night 2-1 in Charlottesville.
