Is there a deadline for students to purchase these tickets. Got a nephew that starts school Monday and would love to bring him and his friend.

I didn’t notice a deadline. They will probably try to sell as many as they can before next Saturday

judging from the number of tickets available on Ticketmaster, Mississippi St isn't really stepping up to the plate and bringing tons of fans either, and UL students will far outnumber MS St students considering its a 6hr haul from Starksville to New Orleans

How about the RCAF? They raise a lot more money than the Alumni association Alumni fundraising has hit the skids since going to the philanthropic loyalty fund model. Donations are starting to pickup but are way behind what was being received with the old dues model. Some of this has been self inflicted with ineffective messaging and an outdated method of tracking alumni. This has been greatly improved with the introduction of the GeauxU app where you can see the status of all your donations to the university (RCAF soon to be included) and the university can have updated contact information for alumni. Download the app if you haven't already. Granted the Alumni association in the past has been stodgy and very parochial but this is also changing. The association is now actively promoting engagement and improving messaging. The Alumni Association has had bus trips to games in the past but participation by fans has been on par with game attendance at Cajun field.
Most people don't know how much the Alumni staff and the association do. One of the primary things the association does is supporting our students. The Alumni association will award around $100,000 in scholarships this year. The staff is also responsible for supporting engagement activities across the university, including RCAF events. The Alumni Association would like to do more but doesn't have the funding to do so. If you are not a loyalty fund member and have the ability to do so, please donate $50/individual $100/couple. It will be greatly appreciated. Also, please stop by the Alumni tailgating tent before the game for jambalaya, cracklins, quail eggs, cold beer or soft drinks. This is an included perk for loyalty fund members. If you would like to discuss the Alumni association further, please PM me. Any constructive comments, either positive or negative is also appreciated.

We'll never be a part of the big time in college football, but then again, neither will Tulane, USM, La Tech, or countless other G5 programs.
Damn, you are ray of sunshine.

I also saw on the alumni twitter page that recent alumni within the last 5 years can join for $25

I think you should talk to people that have been part of the Alumni Association, I have several friends that were involved in putting on events in Houston and New Orleans. One of the main complaints I've heard is while the Alumni Association is doing some things well, that haven't been a good partner with RCAF in sharing Alumni membership information and working side-by-side in attracting new memberships to both organizations. In fact, Louisiana Tech has done a much better job of doing it, which is one of the reasons they have a higher percentage of given among alumni than UL. I've given in the past, but until both organizations learn to work together for the benefit of UL, I have no interest at this time.

If you think UL students are gonna go to this game in New Orleans, then you haven't been paying attention to student attendance the last couple of years. It's been beyond putrid. And those games are at home, and they are FREE.
