Thread: NCAA Approves 20-Second Pitch Clock For Baseball

  1. UL Baseball NCAA Approves 20-Second Pitch Clock For Baseball

Expect the pace of play to be improved in college baseball during the 2020 season.

This new rule would have had zero effect on a Robichaux coached team.

But will it be enforced. Its not enforced at all at the MLB level. Neither is the clock between innings.

This really doesn't affect the game at all. They've used a pitch block in the minors for the past few seasons. Games don't end any quicker than before. It's up to the umpires to speed up the pace of place by keeping things moving between innings.

They will enforce it, at select times on select teams in the post season.

Twenty seconds between pitches seems like it’s going to be a dance between the pitchers, batters, and blue.

Yeah, what happens when the batter calls time in between pitches? Does the clock reset?

I think it's 2 minutes to get the batter at the plate between innings. That has never been enforced......The pitcher can take all the time he want's with runner on base.....at the 16-18 second time an the batter calls time out and is granted TO, what then. All it takes is for the plate ump to say, "get your a&& in the box" and tell the pitcher to deliver......
