Not saying it’s right or has ANY merit...but I’d guess an overwhelming amount of people base ones college attended on their first impressions of the school...and for a very large percentage, schools with higher profile athletic problems have a better first impression and stigma...if student A says I finished engineering at Colorado School of Mines and and student B says I finished engineering at Texas A&M....id bet a large sum of money that a yuuuge percentage of people (specifically non-engineers) will think higher of A&M grad...any others share this opinion?

But to add value to your diploma does it matter. I’d be willing to bet a Benjamin employers are fully aware of the relative merits of your diploma. I’d also bet another Benjamin a 4.0 is more impressive than a 2.7 regardless of the source if both are well regarded schools.

All students pay for the recreational center among other amenities on campus whether they use them or not and attending sporting events free is an amenity. Student Assessed Athletics fees are apart of attending the university just like many of our peer institutions. When Louisiana Athletics suceeds, the value of our degree improves. Everyone wins, but only if we invest appropriately!

Or like 14 classes worth of students paying a fee for a student union they would never step foot in..kinda like that?

When I was a student we had the chance to vote on whether we wanted the fleur di Lis fountain in the quad and if we wanted more buses. Only 1,500 or so students voted each time but they both passed. Most students have no clue that there are things being put up for vote.

Well take a look because you have a lot of fees that can slide into that group. In reality many of the "fees" have been put in place because the State is not obligated to pay "fees" through TOPS. Only tuition is paid through TOPS so if you call it a fee all is good.

Default Students Returning to Their Old Spot

Just received an e-mail from Matt Casbon. Very happy to see this.

    Exactly right thing to do.

Until there’s actual demand for West side seats we should keep the students near the action.
