At the age of one, my oldest was drinking whiskey and gin, at the age of 2 he was eating the bottles they came in...he fit right in with the cULture!
That's the truth. We have some of the best attendance records in our conference in football. We have the New Orleans Bowl records in the same stadium we're playing in for this game. 42k in 2011, 48 k in 2012(for an 11 am kickoff), 54 k in 2013, 34 k in 2014 (also an 11 am kickoff), 35k in 2016.
Our fans will show up more than any other fans in the league. We can also lay eggs like we've done for the past few years. Looks like for this game also. I've stopped making excuses for our fans because everyone has their own reasons for not showing up. I love when everyone is packed into a venue and I'm supremely disappointed when it's empty. I try to be there as much as a can and that's all I can control.
I will say that it's not like the Cajuns are the only ones not pulling their weight. If the ticket sales numbers are true and Moo state has only sold 7500, then that sucks too. They usually get 50-60k into their stadium for home games. There appear to be a lot of factors that are keeping both fan bases away.
Maggard mentions that the 2020 schedule has been filled with an FBS opponent at home tentatively. I looked at all the G5 teams and only 9 have an open spot with most of those not having their FCS booked yet. He did mention it took some manuvering and owed at least 3 ADs big time, so I’m guessing it won’t be straight up who has an open slot based on that. Anyone care to speculate wildly with me on who it could be?
......I still haven’t gotten mine....just keep wondering who might go and getting the family tickets.....think/hope we have a bunch with this plan....as far as the numbers go, it is almost the perfect storm with crazy people weekend, Labor Day, 11 am ko, the Baton Rouge game, and the we can’t win gang....Geaux Cajuns as. I watch LL light it up or a surprise reserve step up!!!
At least from my personal knowledge, that would knock 6 of the 9 out (UAB, ULM, USM, FIU, La Tech, and UCF). Leaving Air Force, SMU, and Old Dominion (not sure if we’ve played any of these in the past). Definitely could be outside of those 3 though with Maggard saying moves had to happen.
Also noticed when going through schedules that 2 MWC have 13 games scheduled next year and Rice played 13 last year. Anybody know what the deal is with that or if more teams will be doing this going forward?
