I think the news attention is actually good. I don’t think the issue itself is that bad really. It can be modified or completely recalled, or not at all and we received our 2nd national news story of the summer. Getting that name out there!
I guarantee the players respond
I'm sure this was one of those votes where the players voted the way they were supposed to rather than the way they may or may not have wanted to vote.
On the bright side we made the Washington Post.
They UL us all over this article.

Isn't the whole idea to make them feel a bigger part of the University and to establish a culture of giving back? Napier paying for them is no different than the scholarship they're getting now in that respect. How does someone paying something else for them do anything to further that? I mean come on, all this brouhaha over $50??
Membership has its privileges.
From what we've come to learn, doesn't Georgia Tech do this to all incoming freshman?
And since people get such a hard-on over athletic scholarships, shouldn't this be lauded?
Its ashame that when someone is trying to teach them about accountability and responsibility it gets twisted and spun a different direction. In this day and age of athletics, not just college athletics, so many kids are entitled or think they are entitled to everything. I guarantee you these kids will have more pride about everything they have or receive because of this. Its an ownership thing. This is a teaching tool. And im glad its being done.
