Best RB I ever saw was Hector. Hands down. Best RB that I've ever been on a football field with and tried to defend was Derwin Antione.
Best QBs I've ever seen were Holstein and Fields.
Most dominate defender I've ever witnessed was with out question Leroy Etienne.
Best HS QB I have ever seen in person was Jake.
Best RB I ever seen in person, on any level, was Derwin Antoine (Late 80's Loreauville). Had the pleasure of tackling him a couple of times, well, actually just happened to be on the ground when he tripped over me, but it still counts.
It was like trying to chase and tackle a 6 ft. jackrabbitt. Everybody wanted him, then his coach blew out his knees playing him late in a blowout his Sr. year. Tulane tried to rehabilitate him, but he was done. Sad story, really.
Derwin was a back who you could have 3 guys around him and the sideline, 99.9% of high school backs would be down but not that dude. He did things as a defensive lineman I had never witnessed before.
He actually got kicked out of Tulane for stealing TVs. I think he spent a little time in the CFL after that.
Robert Hammond as DB at Opelousas High. Human highlight film. Monster hits every game. Signed with Bobby Bowden at Florida State. Could have gone anywhere. USA Today ran a national article on him. One of the top HS recruits in the nation as a senior.
Rufus Alexander from Westminster (transferred to Christian Life for senior year). 3 year starter at Oklahoma at LB. Big 12 defensive player of the year. Drafted by Minnesota Vikings.
Benny Guilbeau Opelousas High. 3 year starter at Strong Safety at Notre Dame. Recruited by Lou Holtz.
