Well, it's exactly what I believed at the time. I allowed myself to get so caught up in the euphoria of winning during Hudspeth's first year that I lost track of reality. I shot my mouth off to some Tech grad/co-workers of mine before our infamous matchup in 2014 where we were totally and completely humiliated on our home field by those guys. Talk about having to eat crow that following Monday......
Never again. At least not for me.
I would agree and the same would go towards players. We so often place projections and expectations on players before they've even hit the field, particularly at the QB position. At that point, if they fail to meet those usually lofty expectations immediately, people start generating a negative opinion of them as a player and it resonates on this board. It's often not fair to them.
