Coach Napier has confidence in LL. That's big. He's got playmakers all around him. Just needs to protect the ball while getting it in the hands of the playmakers.

Hawkins has the best arm. Accuracy + velocity + touch. He gets it out very quick. Good footwork. He'll have to win over the team to get a shot. Show he's their best shot at winning big. The intangibles will determine this.
Anybody remember a guy named mike desormeaux? Athletic quarterback, left handed... he had a few reps behind Jerry Babb. Never thought he was a starting QB. Liked his fake punt in Houston though. Following year he lead one of the most prolific offenses in school history and wasn’t the greatest passer. He was a leader with an it factor. If that team had a lick of defense. Anyway, that’s who I see in Lewis. Don’t think he will run the ball as much as mike ever did, but he needs to keep the defense honest.
I think everyone knew Mike was gonna be our starter. It was just a matter of when. When bab got hurt in 05, Des stepped in and kick started what would be our first winning season in a decade. Our entire offense changed for the next 4 years to that zone read to fit Mikes skill set.
I really think Napier is trying to pump up LL confidence right now because he might be the only option eg
"I thought Levi had a good day, outside of one football play. Adding "Outside of that, it was a good day for him. He was over 150 in his quarterback rating, a really good, efficient day for him."
"Lewis finished the afternoon throwing for 229-yards, two touchdown, and two interceptions according to stats provided by the UL Athletic Communications department."
Just like spring we heard Lewis is another level and when we got to see him live he looked the exact same
The honest truth is, if we have a top 3 Sun Belt defense we are winning this league.
