In spite of his intellect Lewis simply looked lost last season. Looked lost too often, not most of the time. I’m thinking that may be a game situation weakness that manifests itself in the actual game. Jake was just the opposite pretty average in practice, but rose to extremely high levels during games, AKA the IT factor.
I’m hoping Lewis has a 180 degree change this his 3rd season.
If he has 4 years left to play 4 or 3, there was never a reason not to try to get the hardship waiver. Simple as that. Let the best man win. Just another qualified competitor to the most important position to help our team this year.
Does anyone think that someone may elect to transfer out prior to school starting with Hawkins being eligible now?
Napier said today Hawkins is competing for 3rd string behind Lewis and Mag. Coach speak messaging that Hawkins has to earn it?
I wouldn’t think he was getting very many reps being ineligible. Gotta give majority of Reps to the guys that can play. I’d imagine that will change now.
You guys are putting some pretty lofty expectations on a kid that walked on at Maryland and has never attempted a collegiate pass. My guess is that if he becomes our QB this year it is because we are flat out awful and unable to get in any rhythm offensively.
