We were out of town all week and had to board our dog. Just so happened that the Hawkins family was in town and also boarded their dog at the same kennel. My dog said that the Hawkins dog said baby brother was following his big brother to Cajun Land. Confirmed.
Competition makes everyone better. This is the deepest QB room we've had that I can remember in talent. For me, I don't care who the QB is if he leads this team to a Western Division Championship and a shot at the SBC Championship.
I remember a SBC QB named Justice Hansen that had a similar profile as Hawkins. He signed with Oklahoma, never played a down. He transferred to Butler JC and signed with Arkansas State afterwards. Hansen is his first season passed for over 2,719 yards and 19 touchdowns leading State to a bowl game that year. He never played one down of FBS football prior to that season.
We play in the SBC, not the P5. If Hawkins earns the job, I have no concerns that he will succeed at UL with all the growing pains that come with playing young QBs.
IMO you don't put forth the resources to get a hardship waiver for a guy to ride pine
You have to belive Napier has a plan for him to contribute
Yes, that's from Git It, Beau Jocque!, which was recorded over two nights in 1994:
Night 1: Harry's Lounge, Breaux Bridge Louisiana (September 13, 1994)
Night 2: Slim's Y-Ki-Ki, Opelousas, Louisiana (September 14, 1994).
"Skeeta" is the drummer Steve Charlot. He is also the best hype man in the history of zydeco.
Exactly, the higher level of overall talent and the competition will bring out the best out of these guys and we will benefit from it. I also agree with Lannister that they wanted him eligible, knowing what guys we already had, for a reason. If Hawkins has the talent and skill, then I hope Napier doesn't play team politics and delay his start. We need the best we have out there day 1. I know I have seen Lewis, and the eye test tells me while he may be a great guy and leader, we need a more dynamic and capable QB. The passing game at our level has to be a bigger threat to win big games.
