It depends on how we respond next week. If we win, we are 5-2 going into the bye week before homecoming against Texas State. From there, that would mean we would have to lose two games against the likes of Texas State, Coastal Carolina, South Alabama, Troy, and ULM. Is it possible? Yes. Should it happen? No.

Judging by Napier’s play calling in the biggest game thus far of his HC career, anything is possible. He needs to look in the mirror. And this is not a knock on him as an overall HC, because I downright love the man and we are worlds better with him. But some of those calls in that game are SERIOUS head scratchers. I guess he’s human. Time to bounce back, Coach. I believe in you.

The only way we win only eight games is this scenario:

    Ark St- Win
    TX St- Win
    CCU- Win
    USA-Win
    Troy-Loss
    ULM-Loss

No way we lose to both Troy and ULM. I see us finishing at 9-3 and playing in the New Orleans Bowl.

When the season started, I think most of us would have been satisfied with 8-4 as long as the team continued to look on the upward swing.

However, at this point, I’m thinking many of us are wanting one more win than that with the remaining schedule and what we’ve seen so far.

9-3 with a bowl game to possibly get to 10 wins would be nice. 8-4 might be a bit of a letdown, especially if it’s followed up by a bowl loss.

That is consistent with my adjusted expectations for this team. This is our best shot ever to get to 10+ wins and that is a huge milestone. Not that my goal matters, but that is my goal for this team

IMHO, the only team left on our schedule that can beat us if we play a clean game and execute is App St. The rest of the SBC won’t beat us unless we play poorly.

We got beat Wednesday night because they are better at QB and we didn’t stick to what we do best. App played keep away, they ran the ball 53 times to keep their defense off the field. We get 2 more stops we win. I know the refs hosed is out of 2, but we needed to be better on containing Thomas.

If Louisiana does what Louisiana does best, App State doesn't have the same opportunity to run 20 more times than UL.

Their runs go down, Louisiana's go up and the script is flipped.

    Cajuns win.

I’m not sure we are good enough yet to beat app state twice in one year. If we gonna split, this is how you want to
Split the series. Might be a blessing in disguise. Might have been better going into next week as well. Win the west and get to Dec 7th.

Yep. Beat 'em when it counts! Six games left before that, though. ONE GAME AT A TIME!!
