I did see that one recruiting ranking has him as #2 in the state and #196 overall for the class of 21, not that I would put much stock in that being 2 years out. There are 4 juniors on the current roster so there are spots to fill in that class.

During his 4 years.... 2 NCAA appearances, 1 NIT final 4, and Beat Georgetown, Washington State and Marquette to win the Great Alaska Shootout. Sigh.
Also beat Kansas & Michigan State to win the Sugar Bowl tournament! Not a bad weekend! Spoke with Graylin after the Cajuns played a game at Blackham a couple of years ago. Guy has lots of class & a great personality! He's one of my all-time favorites & l told him so. He was very humble & appreciative.

Speaking of him being committed, what happens to our commitment to him should their be a coaching staff change between now and his freshmen year? At the risk of sounding negative.

Until that becomes a concern, why discuss it openly today? No one can answer a hypothetical question today that is based upon an uncertainty.

Just seems like a one way street to me, us expecting this guy to stay committed (see above comment from Ragin Dave) and at the same time we may not be able to commit to him when the time comes.

Okay, I understand. And sure, it works both ways anytime there is a coaching change. I guess my
one concern is discussing the possibility that a coaching staff will no longer be in charge of this program when it may not be a concern in regards to a new commitment that has not yet signed.

I'm sure our coaches will continue to recruit as nothing is in stone. The same thing goes for the staff. What happens if a much higher rated recruit decides to commit? We could always pull the offer and give it to that recruit. It's not generally considered good business practice but it is an option. Like T said, it works both ways.

Note, he has not signed. If there is a coaching change prior to his signing, he can go anywhere he likes. In fact he cannot sign until November of 2020 which will be at the beginning of his senior year. If he signs at that point and a coaching change is made the following March, I believe the NCAA has become more lenient with letting players out of their choice. That only goes for incoming freshman however. Also, generally most new coaches give releases to players signed by previous staffs.

As far as this November goes, we do have a commitment from a point guard from St. Louis High in Lake Charles who will play his senior HS year in 2019-2020. I don't recall his name but understand that both sides expect him to sign with the Cajuns in the fall. Also, unless someone comes in as a surprise transfer right before school starts at the end of the month, we will have another scholarship to offer as we have 12 scholarship players now and only one is a senior. I have no idea what the plans are for that last scholarship.

Mike, on RP there is no difference between a commitment and a signee. The terms are synonymous...
