I just hope our non-conference home opponents are somewhat attractive draws and not teams equivalent to some of our local high schools.
For some, the fact that the schools are different will make them attractive. We are buying those games, so I wouldn't expect a "wow' factor.
While there likely will not be a wow factor, the two opponents we are buying are from leagues with better reputations than the SWAC or SLC. I suspect they are similar to our league or slightly better. Those games may help us prepare for conference play more than Southern or Prairie View did last year. Prairie View did turn out to be decent as they won the SWAC. Still, I don't expect the attendance for those two games to be improved from our normal December crowds. That is OK if playing those games makes us better.
Oh, if they’re a little bit better than the SWAC/Southland norm that we play; I’m completely fine with that especially if they prepare us for the conference. What I don’t want to hear at the end of the year is how great we were for winning “X” games when most of our wins came at the expense of Poo Poo Tech.
Well, the leagues are the Missouri Valley and the Big West, so there's that.
Yup, I can definitely get behind those.
I had received info teams were from Big West and Horizon. Horizon is league Illinois Chicago is in and they went to Final Four in 2018. Of course Willis is usually more right than I in these matters so it may very well be a Missouri Valley school rather than a Horizon team
