If you think you have a point to make about actual play on the court, most would appreciate hearing it. You could still honor the gist of your stance by not participating in anything related to the staff. Many have said here appropriate time to visit that is after the season. Let's give them the chance to honor that position.

You are probably right in that any loss will find some (hopefully just a few) pointing fingers at the staff for it while they won't get any credit for good wins. That is the nature of fans. Just look at what was happening on the game thread in the first quarter of the Ark. State football game. Same folks were singing a different tune in the fourth quarter.
I have since said I would refrain from commenting on staff issues. Before and after the season, I agree, is the time.

Mike, maybe you could come on the pod later in the year and give us an entrenched fan's perspective. This is, in fact, a fan driven podcast. I'm sure Matt and Gerry would agree.

Absolutely. Mike brings good analysis and is very knowledgeable. That would be great.

It could be fun...and educational for some folks.
Oh boy. This will be a good one. Y'all should think about holding it outside at Legends and sell tickets. Bring your own stoggies.

Maybe later in year. Busy with personal projects now. If I do so, I would prefer not to say much about the staff if it is in season.

Virtually all former players who completed their eligibility here have nothing but good things to say about Coach Marlin. Now those who don't finish their eligibility may have a different view of course. I happened to be present this summer when Frank Bartley came by to say hello to his old mentors. He expressed genuine gratitude to them for helping him sign a lucrative overseas contract. I think it is a good idea to bring former players in to discuss things. Brad Boyd goes to many games when they don't conflict with his HS coaching duties. Perhaps he would be interested. Of course it may be against the NCAA or HS rules were he to do so in the event he has guys on his squad who may be recruited one day.

I also wanted to thank the rest of you for supporting me in this situation. I really appreciate it. When I looked at the post again, I am still surprised at this individual's response since I stated lack of depth that hurt us in 2018 was the responsibility of the staff which I thought was actually a criticism of recruiting decisions. Time to drop this and thanks to all of you again. I will say that life would be boring if everyone agreed on everything all the time. Appreciate the discussion you guys are having.

I’d be shocked if most players weren’t positive about their former coaches. That’s not a reason to give or not give an extension. If players were saying awful things about the staff that’d be a serious issue.
