Thread: Ragin Cajun Army Podcasts

  1. Default Re: Ragin Cajun Army Podcasts

Talk to Chris about the first two Cajun offensive possessions from last year’s game. Napier had Moorhead schemed and we didn’t execute multiple big play opportunities. If those plays get made, the entire game changes.

Sounds like the team is confident going into this game. Has he had the same experience when talking to players?

Does he know if the offense focused more on the TE this season. If so, how does he think Napier will adjust to big loses at that position? Do young TEs get more reps or do they attack the middle in another way?

How have the second year Dlineman progressed from a fitness and strength standpoint?

What have we done to get more speed and athleticism at the LB position? Specifically in the middle, where Tulane exposed us in the bowl game.

How have Cole Prudhomme’s potential replacements performed in camp, and does he foresee that situation being a problem?

Is Eric Garror 100%? How has Jaquet looked in his second full year on the defensive side of the ball? Who else in the defensive backfield should we be expecting big contributions from?

Suggest talking about our third and fourth down problems in last year’s game against the Bulldogs and what we need to do to not have that happen this year. We had them in third and long several times and they converted.

Ask if Qb play is the single most important thing with regards to being 7 and 5 or 10 and 2

So sorry I didn’t look at these before recording. However, I’m recording again tonight and I’ll make sure to get them answered. What questions do you guys have?

Is there a possibility of seeing 2 of our 3 backs lined up in the offensive backfield at the same time?

That happened at least once on Saturday. Believe it was Calais and Mitchell.

Calais was in the slot. Talking about in the actual backfield together. Split backs etc...

I thought he lined up in the backfield and moved to the slot as the play was being called on the line. I could be wrong on that however.

To be honest Mike, you could be right. I guess I'm more interested in seeing multiple backs in the the run game.

The H-Back aint Calais, or Ragas or Mitchell. I wouldn't mind having a triple option package with any combo of these guys like we did in 2006 with Babb, Fenroy and Jenkins. That offense led us to the zone read.

Babb had a pretty salty fake, then Desormeaux took it to the next level. I really think Desormeaux built off of what he saw Babb doing.

Desormeaux is on staff now and would have to spend time with the QBs for there to be any chance of this happening now. I personally don't a coaching shuffle in the works unless it was a temporary teach thingy.
