I'm pretty sure the players have "bought in." If anyone knows different, please correct me.

The problem I do have with the "excess" rah rah approach is what happens to the team and fans when things go bad. Fans especially get deflated when problems occur. Keeping up your support during the tough periods in a game can help things go your way at the end. As far as players go, if you are too emotional you can lose focus on what your job is. Some motivation is needed of course but it needs to be balanced with the mental aspect.
I know nothing about the incoming QB's, but I do know it is extremely rare for UL to have multiple legit D1 QB’s at the same time. Over the past 5 years we haven't even had one on the roster. In fact, is is extremely rare for any difference makers to be waiting in the wings at UL. If you are good, you play.... a lot! IMHO, we are thin at every position except RB, but I agree with others that improvement at the QB and DL will be keys to a successful season.
Looking forward to see what year 2 brings.
Like coach says, the Defense is full of great opportunities for young and talented players to stand up and name a name for themselves.
Also Ferrod Gardner aint too shabby as an Inside LB either. My issue with us is depth, specifically at certain positions on the back end of the defense. I don't have issues with either of our starting Inside LB guys, my concern is rotation and depth there and in the DB area. I am pretty happy with the play of Boudreaux/Gardner/Wallace and Miller as the back middle half of our defense.
Any word on Dillon's return? He would certainly help hold the edge on the DL.
And Mclintock(sp?) the kid who was dismissed last season. He was a good player. Status?
