Good point Boomer, hopefully the choice for QB gets narrowed down to where the reps go to the main 1, or 2. It is a pretty exciting competition starting to develop, different than the past.

Sounds like Jaive will be healthy... in my opinion, if half the hype of his arm is true, why would we even consider wasting a year of Hawkins? Let Levi and Jaive battle it out and possibly rotate similar to last year, then save Hawkins, McDowell and Fields to watch and learn then battle down the road.

Outside of lewis Hawkins would be the only other QB with D1 exp

I honestly believe that Jai'ave's talent is sufficient to overcome his lack of experience.

And that is the crux of Napier's decision. Does Levi's experience overcome some of his talent shortcomings or does Jai'ave's talent overcome his lack of experience.

Barring injury, I don't think we see anyone other than Levi start against Mississippi State. From there, whoever #2 is, the experience and performance he gets in the early games will dictate who plays the majority of the snaps come conference time.

My prediction is that even with the same level of QB play as last season we go 8-4, better QB play gets us to 9-3 and outstanding play gets us to 10-2.

With Lewis, our ceiling is 7-5 or 8-4. Our floor is 6-6 or 5-7. With Jai'ave our ceiling is 10-2, our floor is 7--5.

Why is the ceiling not 12-0 or at least 11-1? i understand being reasonable, but if your going to say ceiling, go for all of it.

If you are going to go there, why not shoot for the moon?

    14-0 or 13-1

That's pretty lofty expectations put on a guy without any D-1 experience. I don't care what his talent level is as it is useless if you can't perform with the lights on. None of us know if he can or not at this point.

Especially considering the QB doesn’t play by himself...or defense. These type predictions always crack me up.
