Louisiana United coached by Brad Boyd and comprised ex-UL players Brad Boyd and Frank Bartley will look to advance to the Sweet 16 of the TBT today.

The TBT is a single elimination winner take all prize money tournament for post college non NBA players. I believe prize money is 100 grand per player. Not sure what coaches receive if their team wins the thing. The Louisiana United Team entered in this event may be of interest to some Cajuns fans. They are coached by former Cajun and current Southside High School coach Brad Boyd. There are two former Cajuns on the team in Tyren Johnson and Frank Bartley. The team is 2 and O at this point following an 80 to 78 victory tonight. The two Cajuns led the team in scoring tonight with Bartley going for 27 and Johnson for 23. Johnson had the game winning shot as well. I believe they have to win 6 games to get the title. Therefore they need to win 4 more for the championship. Their next game is tomorrow at 2 PM. These contests are on ESPN 3.

Sweet. Wish I had known about this before now to follow them. Last year, they lost a heartbreaker in the 2nd round due to poor refereeing, almost making a tremendous comeback. Glad they got further this time around.

As I recall watching the game last night, since Louisiana is participating with only 6 players, coaches and players each get $171,000 in the event they win the championship.
