One of many reasons Cajun Nation was blessed to have Robe as a Coach at UL.

Does anyone have an idea what Degg’s dream job is? If he has success here to the point of getting to Omaha while earning nearly $500k / year coaching a Top 25 program will he stay put at UL or does he have aspirations to Coach in the SEC?
I have ZERO inside info but just on evaluation I'd think the following.... a. Degg's is past worrying about what he gets paid. It isn't about money for him. He was making enough at SH and is making enough at UL to keep he and the family in a comfortable position. b. Coastal Carolina won it all and he believes he can do the same here.

So..... family, home, and past..... I'd have to believe that the Texas A&M job would be the one that would hold out a big interest for him. Of course that is all based on status quo. Things change...

Robichaux found a place where he wanted to be and made a legacy, his name will be remember as long as Cajun Baseball is around. To me that is a person of integrity, and knew what was important. Which is very rare these days, and you will almost never find in today’s society.

He rewarded us with loyalty, loyalty to the fan base, his players, the community, the school and to his baseball team.

Now it’s time for the University to reward Robichaux ! The University needs to erect a Robichaux Memorial with a statue in his honor.
    Gotta happen... Maggart

    1. Hire a great replacement - check
    2. Work out the funds for the locker room etc and get in built
    3. Build that damn statue

We are in good hands with Mags... These will happen

I don't know how happy Tony would be with a statue. Now something with naming on the new locker room/training facility which Tony has been working toward for 3-4 years would seem to work.

Guarantee George Washington and Abraham Lincoln would not have wanted monuments built to them either. The monument is for the living, to remind them of what the memorialized stood for, to attempt to prolong the positive affect they have had beyond their passing.

Oh, I understand that. I just think this would be the exact opposite of Tony's core belief of pointing the honor and praise in the right direction.

Yea and with no disrespect, we can no longer wonder "what Tony would want".. He would say he didn't build the stadium and deflect praise to others. Sorry Tony YOU built the stadium.. He would deflect praise and honor others. Well its time to honor the man in a BIG WAY. The man should be imortalized. His image needs to be on the stadium HE built... on the program HE built... so when my grandchildren ask "who is that?".. I can tell them of a great man who influenced an entire community.. Build the damn statue

Now is the time to point honor and praise in the right direction. He has completed his calling in person and the way he has done it will live on forever. A statue at this time could not be more perfect for the one who has most earned it.

Deggs' stories at the Diamond Club function last night gave me goosebumps. He had some serious signs pointing him back this way

Yeah, I remember hearing a story of Brother Martin who at the time was the Principal of Cor Jesu, I believe or might have been Aloysius in 1968. They were going to merge the two schools to create a new school and at the meeting someone suggested Brother Martin as the name since he was going to be the principal. He stated you only name things after death and I am not dead yet. They supposedly voted on a name and he left the meeting, and the group met afterward and named the school Brother Martin anyway.

He was not happy at all about this happening.

They almost sound made up because they are too good to be true. Last night went a long way to help the healing process.
