Now, as I have stated many times over the years, major stuff always happens when I'm out of town.

(Baldwin fired, Schexnayder steps down, Dr. Authement announces retirement, David Walker announces retirement, Bob Marlin is hired...and so many more)

I'm leaving Thursday mid day for my annual family reunion. Take heed.

....Just because of the success of Cajun baseball, I don't think Bab has a HC chance.....the question is if he is retained in some capacity......his experience and years of being such a loyal member helps keep him along with providing important info on the entire situation....like Des in the football hire......I personally hope he remains!

"I may be wrong, but I don't feel that way at all. First, students athletes don't begin class until August, about a month away. Dr Maggard doesn't need a coach in place until then. There is time to methodically due his job, in addition to assuring his present staff and student athletes that he will do what is in their best interest balanced against doing what is in the best interest of the program. In this case, that will possibly mean keeping several coaches including Bab and Wells on staff because they recruited this group and have familiarity with the program top to bottom.

My gut feeling is that Bab and Wells will remain to help the transition in some capacity on the staff and major changes will be made after the season. JMO"

I think you may be underevaluating the program. I believe there were 50-75 resumes to go through. After that, I think Dr. Maggard probably cuts to a dozen and then has informal or formal interviews with 6-10.

Just....wow. I do think we are in conversations regarding top 25 to 30 programs. Facilites, attendance, cULture, location and Robe crafted tradition are all top shelf. 50+ resumes is impressive.

I would say that we are in the conversation regarding top 50 programs. The only program at UL that is in the top 25 conversation is softball.

I would say that we are in the conversation regarding top 50 programs. The only program at UL that is in the top 25 conversation is softball.

In 2015 D1 baseball ranked as 30th all time. In 2018 247Sports ranked us 33rd.
