Hmm, just checked Shockers website. Could maybe be Pitching Coach Mike Pelfrey. That would be pretty legit. He was a 9th overall draft pick out of Wichita State and pitched 12 years in the MLB with the Mets and couple other teams.

We beat Pelfrey and the Shockers at U. Hawaii tourney 2005.

Correction, the pitcher I’m thinking of was not Pelfrey and I’m thinking of a game that we actually won 1-0 against WSU in our Mardi Gras tournament.

The more I read about JG, the more I start to lean towards him. I like Deggs as much as the next guy, but I'm a little uncomfortable with him having two careers to manage at once. I'm assuming any type of motivational speak would be done during the offseason, but maybe there's more to it that i'm not seeing.
