Wow. I think this might be the most distressingly telling comment I have ever read on this board.

Raginsaints is right. We should show some decorum and I failed to do so.

My humble and sincere apologies to the memory of good man. I hope we're lucky enough to find a successor as complete as Robe.

He certainly has a lot of support from those that have been involved in the program through the years.

I never have asked him but certainly got the impression he was kind of glad to move into his current role. Bab has kids playing sports and the job certainly doesn't allow you the freedom to spend as much time with them as you would like. He has been at it for 25 years now. I just question if it is something he really wants.

Not to mention the talent that went to other D1 programs as well. STM has had great baseball talent it just hasn't been coached up.
While I don't disagree one bit about the Perkins thing, STM did win 2 with those guys.

As I have said, only an idiot would think that the suggestion that they do no due diligence and hire Perkins was not a joke. It was followed shortly after the post that said someone saw Maggard talking to Bertman and the one complaining about making the hire without the expected due diligence across the board. But I guess reading the thread is work for some.

Didn’t realize simply asking what a caller said was all that. Sorry to offend you.

I understand it’s not easy talking about a successor to Robe under these circumstances. But the program must go on. I don’t think coach himself would have a problem with folks giving there opinion on this board.

I won't get to deep in the conversation at this time, specifically concerning Coach Bab. But at times Cajun fans get too emotional rather than practical when it comes to discussions of coaches. Coach Bab should get an interview if he has expressed interest in the position. He has earned at least that opportunity for his loyalty to this program. I will reserve further comments for later.

Decorum is fine and for those fans that don't feel comfortable discussing the subject yet, perhaps not reading threads with that specific topic would be best. For me, the process keeps me distracted from the loss of Coach Robe and not getting bogged down in emotion. So, I look forward to getting into the discussion this weekend.

regardless whomever the new coach is, out of respect for Coach Robe, the university etc. we need to support him 100%

When I refer to decorum, I don't mean not discussing the next coach. I mean discussing the next coach without calling each other idiots and acting like upset teenagers while doing it. We can disagree respectfully, and I think this is a time that calls for that behavior.

Agree! And that's why I mentioned emotion rather than being practical.

I’ve been a patio box / loge suit holder for 20 seasons now and don’t plan on changing that no matter who the coach is.

I agree with you 100%. I guess I am guilty because of one guy on here loves to call names and I took the bait this time. I will refrain going forward.

I was confused when you quoted me asking "what a caller said on jays show" when making that comment. Didn't see how your reply was related to my question.

    Offended? Not at all.

I guess you can attribute the call and your post to funky and ironic timing.
