The definition of an IDIOT is one who would actually take that inference seriously and then come back with a suggestion that we hire one of the other local high school coaches and then make two or three more posts in furtherance of that suggestion. Now that is an IDIOT, extraordinaire. You must have papers.

I like Jake Gautreau a lot!

Never suggested we should hire the other. Just said if I had to choose one or the other I'd take the obvious better more decorated coach. I am personally in the Deggs corner. The fact that Tony resurrected his career, the relationship they had and the fact that he produced our best hitting team ever, would make him a very good fit.

IDIOT- one who makes an assigned statement then tries to play it off as if he were joking.

    Synonym- CajunVic.

How about we honor Coach Robe's legacy by not acting like a bunch of children on a message board thread about his successor. Have some decorum.

Thib is just a more hard nose kinda coach that demands more and gets more out of his kids. Kinda like Robe!
Agree 100%. I remember one game this year sitting in my loge suite high atop Russo park and seeing Veillon, Hannie, Breaux and Lockridge all in the line up on the field at the same time in a D1 baseball game, and thinking how did they not win multiple titles with that talent. Not to mention the talent that went to other D1 programs as well. STM has had great baseball talent it just hasn’t been coached up.

Agree 100%. It always seems to be the same guy starting it.

Is Bab out of the question for the HC position or will he stay at what he’s doing now???

FWIW, Babs is the overwhelming choice on the FB page I saw yesterday. Was really kind of surprised to see that.

I was just wondering what everyone else thinks about it

Wow. I think this might be the most distressingly telling comment I have ever read on this board.

Raginsaints is right. We should show some decorum and I failed to do so.

My humble and sincere apologies to the memory of good man. I hope we're lucky enough to find a successor as complete as Robe.

He certainly has a lot of support from those that have been involved in the program through the years.

I never have asked him but certainly got the impression he was kind of glad to move into his current role. Bab has kids playing sports and the job certainly doesn't allow you the freedom to spend as much time with them as you would like. He has been at it for 25 years now. I just question if it is something he really wants.

While I don't disagree one bit about the Perkins thing, STM did win 2 with those guys.

As I have said, only an idiot would think that the suggestion that they do no due diligence and hire Perkins was not a joke. It was followed shortly after the post that said someone saw Maggard talking to Bertman and the one complaining about making the hire without the expected due diligence across the board. But I guess reading the thread is work for some.
