    Dear Cajun Nation,

Earlier this week, we laid to rest our beloved friend and coach, Tony Robichaux . A developer of men, one of Coach Robe's greatest legacies will be the immense impact he had on everyone with whom he came into contact. Knowing how challenging the past several days have been, please know Kerry and I will continue to lift each of you up in thought and prayer over the days, weeks and months to come. A transition like this is certainly difficult, and I am so grateful for the love and support this community has given to the Robichaux family and our Ragin' Cajuns Baseball program.

As we "prepare to progress" by moving Louisiana Baseball forward, please understand the task at hand is not to replace Tony Robichaux , as that would be impossible. Rather, we will set out to identify our next Head Coach who will possess the character and standards our baseball program stands for and is accustomed to. During our search process, we will be quick but not hurried. We will commit to finding a coach who prioritizes the academic success of our student-athletes, focuses on the hearts of those he coaches, recruits relentlessly, and is a proven winner.

In similar fashion to previous searches, I will have no further public comment until the time arrives that we announce our new coach. Due to the notoriety and success of Louisiana Baseball, there will be great interest and speculation associated with this search. Thus, unless you hear information directly from me, please do not assume it to be accurate.

On behalf of University President Dr. Joseph Savoie and our entire Athletics Department, allow me to thank you for your commitment, loyalty and unwavering support of our amazing University and student-athletes.

    Sincerely, Bryan Maggard, Ph.D.
    Director of Athletics

I don't read where he states, "get out the way I got this". I do read him saying unless the information comes directly from me, it's probably not accurate. In either case, I trust the guy to get the job done until he proves otherwise.

LOL!!I don't think he will be emailing out daily updates to anyone. That's the way he other hires have went. I'm not jumping on the speculation ship anytime soon on this hire because there are a number of quality people out there, the question remains which are available in our price range?

Deggs, Cannizaro, Gautreau, Riser, Bab, Hill listed. Says Deggs front runner and salary won’t be issue.

Gave a summary of each guy. He said thought Deggs and Gautreau are higher than a guy like Cannizaro

Rogers take is that Deggs is likely choice.

Just this. 2020 will be the most emotional season in maybe forever. The team needs help. Naming the new guy will go a long way getting legs under them. Does not sound like that is too far off.

Seems more or less like he ranked them:
    Deggs, Gautreau, Hill, Riser/Bab/Cannizaro

At the end he said he would be surprised if it wasn’t Deggs though
