I still would be ecstatic with Deggs but some let nostalgia cloud their vision

I was with you until Cannizaro, I don't want him here unless he comes in as a hitting coach. I replaced him with Barbier, another coach that had a very good relationship with Coach Robe.
Barbier is a good dude!.. and coach 🤟🏼

He also took Miss state offense to another level.. He would be a grand slam hire
Yourre gonna have to explain how he brought Mississippi state to another level? They dfijisjed second in Omaha in 2013 or somewhere arond there and been winning for years

He got there they were 8th in the SEC and this year they were first. He didn’t coach for Cohen. You can also take a team that is good at something and bring that aspect to another level

When I met Coach Butler for the 1at time.....he knew I was feom LA and went to LA but not that I went to ND and knew Tony. Once he knew that we spent well over half our time on official visit weekend talking about his experieces with Tony at McNeeae, fishing, food.....his pledge to me and wife to mentor to my son was simply awesome. Very honest, open dialogue.

Months Before the official visit....Just 3-4 weeks.after Coach Butler offered a scholarship spot.....my son tore his ACL. TAMU coaches immediatley disappeared. TxTech changed offer to Red Shirt. Not Coach Butler....our actual very 1st conversation was a call from him that I was not exspecting. He reassured.me that his offer was still good and very much wanted my son at WSU. Beau's doctor was the Tx Rangers team surgeon and he knew all would be fine. Wvwrything a scared kid and parents wanted to hear.

fwiw: i was also in contact with Tony but UL was out of scholarship spots. When my son committed to WSU I let Tony know. He then gave me a very positive endorsement of Coach Butler. I still have the text meassages. Also Tony was no fan of how the acholarship limits worked.....have those text too.

That all said I like Coach Wedge. He is WSU royalty in baseball and he earned it......he caught my class of 82 classmate at Notre Dame in Crowley in AAA in the Red Sox Org. It was very reassuring to learn more about him from a longtime friend during the transition. Coach Butler has since called me to reassure me my son is in good hands with the new staff. 100% Class Act.

    So yes he was fired......
I apologize that I was so abrupt. I am well aware of Coach Butler and have been for many years. Tony spoke very highly of him. I was simply clarifying who we were talking about in the previous four or five comments.

Todd Butler has a very good resume and he's coached at some great places. I would not discount this man.

I know he didn’t coach for Cohen. The Kentucky head Coach was Cohen’s hitting guy. If miss st was 8th in hitting cannizaro first year there then the stats were skewed. They hit the ball that year and Always do. They have tons of talent.

He only raised the team batting average by 30 points since he arrived to .315 this year ... terrible

No he didn’t, they hit 285 in cannizaro first year. He wasn’t there far from 8th in the league like the other guy said

Nevermind just checked m, they did hit like 320 in 2019, his first year. I stand corrected and that’s impressive

He maybe just went to the top of my wishlist
