No, the second FCS game does not count like playing a D2 school in basketball your record will not show that game when it comes down to bowl selection.

Second question what if you got someone hurt in a glorified scrimmage plus if your team needs motivation beating a lower division team we need to find a new coach.

fair enough about the motivation, didnt say need though

these guys did it..... besides other factors im just saying i wouldnt alone worry about not doing it, just for the bowl reason. you still get a leg up if situation arises that you wouldnt have with the extra loss or two

That's because the NCAA gave them a waiver because of a hurricane so the second FCS game counted. In a normal season they would have finished 5-6 regardless of winning that game vs Presbyterian

Hopefully it’s absolutely worst case scenario but I think another home game against anyone is good from a revenue standpoint. Let’s hope we hear soon that an FBS Home game contract has been signed.

This is about UConn but shows that there are still quite a bit of schools out there with a 2020 opening. Schools with a 2020 openings: Army (my vote), Virginia Tech, Arkansas, TCU, eight G5 schools need one game [Louisiana Tech (3A), Southern Miss (1H/2A), Florida International (2A), Old Dominion (2H/1A), UAB (1H/2A), the rest are Sunbelt teams (Coastal Carolina, ULM, and us) and 2 School need two games (ULM and FIU).

Personally I would like to see us play Army, but I think ODU is the most likely to be who we schedule based on needs of teams.

Stay the hell away from Army. Preparing for that offense is a nightmare. They should've beat Oklahoma in Norman this past season.

Unless you play a triple option team in conference regularly, these are difficult games to prepare for. You want it week 1, after a bye week or a bowl game to have as much time to prep as possible.

Add this to the fact that Army is a pre-season Top 25 team and Monken is a terrific head coach and you are setting yourself up for failure ... at home.

With everything that has happened in the last few weeks I hope Maggard is still working on this.
Anyone in the know have any detail on this? I think Maggard wouldn't mind question that is not who is our next Baseball coach going to be.
