This could be wishful thinking on my part but it might not be as impossible as you all think. A majority of the money for the stadium will be bonded out. A recession won’t close that door for us. And if the economy really does dip into a recession that will make raw materials like steel plunge which will significantly reduce costs.
UL did a lot of building during the financial crisis. It was too cheap not to.
This is not something you can wait on, regardless of the current economy. We all know it should have been done 10 years ago. So, it's now or never... Remodel or drop down to FCS.
The big shakeup is just around the corner. Conferences don't care about nice baseball or softball stadiums.
UL ____ the bed by not prioritizing properly and will pay the price if this doesn't get done now, and if it doesn't get done, we will surely have the best softball stadium in the Southern or Southland Conference. Yippee!
