At this point, having the place officially condemned might be what we need to move forward.

Let's say modernizing Cajun Field takes upwards of $50MM. How much fundraising or pledges are needed in advance of moving forward? 20% or even 30% of the total project?

    Much much more than that

Cajun Field MUST get renovated, we have no choice if we want to be relevant in FBS. If not, might as well quit trying, it's an anchor at this point. This is essentially and primarily why Dr. Maggard was hired, to get this done.

Was thinking that at some point it WILL be condemned if it never gets done. I know the "oil money" isn't there, but it will have to get done somehow, or we will eventually not even have a stadium to play in. It's not like construction/renovation costs are going to go DOWN.

Yes, there are only 2 option: give up on FBS football or renovate the stadium (the right way, no half-___ job) NOW. There isn't anymore time to waste or wait. It's 4th and goal, down by 4, at the 5 with 3 seconds left.

Ridiculous that the FOOTBALL stadium is the last to get done. Bass ackwards.

We've been caught with our pants down. This is the result of decades of decisions made by the university that placed the interests of the athletic department, and specifically the football program, last.

That way of thinking only began to change with the hiring of Hud. Still, it was politically incorrect in this town to move Cajun Field to the top of the Master Plan.

    .... and here we are.

There was no Master Plan in place, just a shot gun approach when it came to facilities. This is why Farmer had no clue, there was no vision.
