This could be wishful thinking on my part but it might not be as impossible as you all think. A majority of the money for the stadium will be bonded out. A recession won’t close that door for us. And if the economy really does dip into a recession that will make raw materials like steel plunge which will significantly reduce costs.

UL did a lot of building during the financial crisis. It was too cheap not to.

This is not something you can wait on, regardless of the current economy. We all know it should have been done 10 years ago. So, it's now or never. Remodel or drop down to FCS.

The big shakeup is just around the corner. Conferences don't care about nice baseball or softball stadiums.
UL ____ the bed by not prioritizing properly and will pay the price if this doesn't get done now, and if it doesn't get done, we will surely have the best softball stadium in the Southern or Southland Conference. Yippee!

Agreed and years ago I said we made a mistake by not upgrading football before baseball etc and got chastised on this board for that thought

Yes we possibly should have but the pledge that kick started baseball was a baseball only pledge.

So you say thanks for the offer but at this time, we would rather pay the rest of the cost toward football unless you want to fund more of the baseball we can’t tie up another 10 million on baseball

Try to recall who was in charge of recommendations at the time.

Until you can prove that the bonding on baseball is what has resulted in not starting football, I believe your response fails.

Still cost us 12 mill outside of that pledge

Don’t think that was the only pledge.
