And even they had a 4 year stretch with no post season (before this next 4 years in a row that they were in.) But I agree that we should strive to be more consistent. If USM can make it to 9 regionals in a row, I just find it hard to understand how our best ever stretch is 4
13 regionals in the last 17 seasons, compared to our 7. USM was transitioning from an ill Corky Palmer to the new guy when they missed those 4 in a row. At least our coaches have been able to stay off injured reserve, so that excuse is off the table, for now.
USM is in a smaller state competing with TWO SEC teams for players. One would think USM is a good comp for us.
McNeese makes it 2 of last 3 years, meanwhile we’re sitting home.
No the face saving coaches got into different careers. You might be thinking of the successful assistants like Schef and Deggs.
Maybe you’ve ignored my posts that I absolutely think he deserves more time. At the same time I’m concerned that more time isn’t going to help because his biggest recruiting failures have been under Talbot whose actually gotten more entrenched in the recruiting process.
You mean mike Trahan, who left for the private sector. Simoneaux, Scefz and deggs all left for better situations or moves up. I’m all about discussion but lets do that with facts. We know tony is a good baseball coach, that same concern would be there with a new guy as well. It’s all unknown
I’m pretty sure we said the same, except I didn’t explicitly say that the successful assistants left for promotions. That was a given as almost everyone on the site knows that.
So you’re comfortable with Talbot being Robe’s most important talent gatherer. That’s fine.
Historically Robichaux is in rare air 1100 plus wins, ranked in top 54 all time with realistic chance to get to top 15. In the top 54 his percentage of wins is.611 one of the lower winning percentage in top 54, but some actually with more wins in the upper fifty percentile. The point is longevity matters in some of the records.
