A bit harsh there, my friend. I dont think holding a coach to a high standard is wrong, even if he is the one who set the standard. I also think Tony agrees with me.

No one has suggested he should. What was said is basically that good ADs stay on top of the situation in their department and make sure that coaches hold to the standard expected of them. When any sport tanks to the degree that baseball has over the last four years, the coach should be on a rather warm seat.

You know I wasn't talking about you. It was for the trolls. I know your position and I respect your reasoning. I personally don't think it's time to panic, but I am very concerned. As you already know. I think we have personality problems on the roster. I think while JT and FREE are good at evaluating talent, they are not good at all at evaluating personalities. It's been my biggest gripe since 2016. I think Robe not being on the rode for the last couple seasons has hurt a lot.

My point is, I do not think Tony is the problem. We can debate brand of baseball until the cows come home (and I'd argue that Robe has shown some flexibility on that issue over the past 5 years with Deggs and now Wells) but as far as leadership and ability to right the ship, Robe, IMHO, is still the man for this job.

And by the way, I wholeheartedly support Maggard putting pressure on the Tony & the baseball staff.

When did Robe stop recruiting and evaluating?

It is probably closer to 5 vocal posters on this board.

So for those who don’t believe we should move on from Robe, I have an honest question...How many more subpar seasons will it take for you to change your mind?

I would say missing postseason play. Especially for what? The 3rd straight year?

You can miss postseason play and win a conference title, you can win 39 games and miss postseason, you can finish .500 and make the postseason. Pretty broad spectrum

I say when competing for at large spots becomes a pipe dream

You’re right then. Missing postseason play (no matter the circumstances) is completely okay.
