There was only about 20 people there, but I think everyone in that room KNEW without a doubt that he would and his passion for this program was stronger than ever, after his worst season coaching here. He think he’d only voluntarily step down if he’s handing over the keys to a Cadillac.
And he will fix it this time too

Was that also the meeting that Farmer stood up and said they were raising money for the stadium renovations? I remember Coach Rob got emotional at that particular meeting.

I think that was the same meeting. That was the "first time" they were suppose to start a new stadium at the end of the season, as we had been told for several months. I always thought that Robe was tired of repeating what he had been told and being made a liar. At which point he said to SF "You come tell them what is going on".

Bottom line is this: I think the second half of the season showed that our hitting is on an uptick, and if pitching is the problem, I have NO DOUBT it will get fixed. Without bashing anyone and naming names, we have seen Robe correct recruiting in a very private and respectable manner. I hope he gets it done again, however he sees fit to get it fixed.

The AD from Texas is best friends with the AD from TCU. Texas AD was on the committee. Don't underestimate that fact.

Yes, I thought so. I was there and asked Scott Farmer if the funds were raised, meaning the initial seed money that Dr Savoie said he would approve if a certain percentage was in hand.

That was the era of the "silent phase" of fundraising. I seem to remember asking why don't they come out with a definite plan, show it to fans along with a timeline showing X amount of dollars to get started and X amount to get it built in X amount of time, and fund raise to that goal. The popularity was at a high point at the time. The answer was they'd look into that after the silent phase. To my knowledge, they never got out of the "silent" phase.

Looks like we may still be in the “silent phase”

Wait.... you mean it is important for an AD to build relationships outside of City Bar? Who would have thought that?

Oh what a fun time that was especially the finger pointing. Nothing like not having money in the bank to start a multimillion dollar project.

A silent phase is SOP in a capital campaign...as you will see when the new guy gets on board and we start raising money for the stadium.

4 straight CWS can buy you 2 straight missed post-seasons. I’d sign up today for a constant rotation of 4 CWS appearance followed by 4 years of missed post season.

That’s not the current situation at hand for us.

Didn’t say it was the current hand, but do you think TCU coach forgot how to coach? If a team In the big 12 with all their resources can go into a downward cycle after 4 straight CWS trips, what makes a sun belt program immune? Did TCU forget how to recruit?
