This is why I’m confident in the near future. We get a few real good arms, restock the pond with better recruiting and get back to our typical pitching while letting Wells do his thing on offense. Play a cleaner brand of baseball, doing the little things we expect and this will turn around quick. I’m not on board the doom and gloom train. This looks like our bottom, a .500 team that lacks dependable pitching. Not good but I still believe in this program. To me the key is the offense under Wells. I have to believe Robichaux will fix the pitching based on track record and clean up our defense.

For now we have a double elimination tournament to focus on to advance to the regionals. We have 2 guys batting at .340 (pre-today), another 2 over .300 and another at .296. We can make something happen. It’s all about geting hot at the right time with the bats to win this tournament.

Assuming GA Southern is throwing Shuman tomorrow?

If Wells can keep working his mojo and our pitch simply reverts to the mean, say 4.00 era, we will win a lot of games. Start there and move forward.

By other teams standards Robi has always overstocked on pitchers and it seemed he always found one or two to get UL to Sunday. This year, hopefully was an anomaly

Looking at 25 years, it’s a huge anomaly in regards to pitching. I can’t even think of a season that compares. Our worst years record wise we could still pitch.

Minds well buy the yearly subscription to ESPN+. Most of our basketball and baseball games are exclusively on it. Conference Football games as well. Just another damn subscription to buy! And I did. Lol!

there is a middle ground between “these guys suck and I can’t be expected to win with them” and “there’s too many games when the season gets going so we are suffering from lack of practice.”

I need to do a better job of putting my guys in a position to be successful.

And our record would be different how? Would it make you feel better if these coaches had more experience speaking publicly about subpar teams? I personally am happy they aren’t real comfortable speaking about .500 ball clubs because they haven’t done it very often. When you get good at satisfying fans with your speak about .500 ball clubs we have a real problem. I don’t need a grown man to coddle me with his words, go do it.

Tomorrow is a must win, we lose and may as well call it a season. Hard to drop that first game and make it back to win. Have to win what is technically the first game of the tournament.

That is their only function. Put them in position to be successful.

Nobody is perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. I make them everyday. This team got lost in the weeds, but they are now seeing daylight.

They need to make this next giant recruiting class work, get the classes balanced and get back to signing good arms.

LOL dude you are the one suggesting the fans haven’t coddled the players enough and have pushed some of them to give in. So the way the fans speak can lead to a downturn with the team but not the coaches spouting off nonsense that the players are smart enough to realize is nonsense?

I’m just suggesting that there is a way to discuss shortcomings without ripping the players or sounding like a buffoon.

Why does UL schedule so many midweek games?

Everybody else plays 56 games. We must play a lot more. It's not fair.
